Izumisano Fish Market

A mere distance from Kansai International Airport, I went to the open-air Izumisano fish market which features fish caught in Osaka Bay.
Crowded with customers, this thriving market is composed mainly of fresh fish retailers, but there are other stores as well, ranging from dried fish shops to fruit stalls.

Shopkeepers draw customers in with their loud voices; customers assess the goods, consult on cooking methods and negotiate discounts; all contributing to a lively atmosphere that can only be enjoyed in a market.　Customers who can’t clean and fillet their fish can feel assured that they can have their purchases filleted on the spot for sashimi or other dishes. You can also enjoy fresh seafood sashimi, tempura, sushi and other delicacies in several restaurants located inside the market.

After being completely unsure of what to buy from an abundant array of choices, I settled on sea bream, bonito and manila clams.
I cleaned and cooked them myself at home and enjoyed them thoroughly.
